Localisation

What's that?

Localization is the translation of software texts along with their cultural adaptation. In this context customers usually speak of localization when they need translation of software, help and documentation and many insist that localization were more than just translation.
But, the processes in localizing software do not differ significantly from traditional translation. And, to be honest, localization is not really a concept new to the professional translator. Or, could you imagine a translator not adapting american units of measure to the corresponsing european ones?
Anyway, on the border of software engineering and translation many new tasks have come up that translators of former times did not even think of:

And we have performed all of these tasks: To the entire satisfaction of end users, software vendors and localization partners.
